Nina Meow is a level 693 Elder Druid, she plays on Solidera, a yellow open-pvp server.
Nina was introduced to Tibia in 2005 by Fabiola, one of her friends who currently doesn’t play. Although this happened years ago, she has never played regularly as she has retired several times since then.
Her first character was named Ninanifre, an Elite Knight that she still has and with whom she had a surprising coincidence at that time. Previously in Tibia there used to be players who “protected” other lower level players from the many so-called “Power Abusers”, players who took advantage of their power, level and so on to chase others and sometimes receive items or money in exchange for stopping bothering them. ; Nina was no exception, (yes, she was the little player!) she met “Dowe” in a rather peculiar way, in Tibia his name was Shadow Spinal and he would become her “protector” within the game.
“THIS STARTED ON A NORMAL NIGHT FOR ME, I WAS WORKING (IN A CYBERCAFE THAT MY SISTER RL OWNED) AND ALSO PLAYED TIBIA... LONG STORY SHORT, I WAS LEVELING IN HYDRAS, A RESPAWN IN THE MOUNTAINS OF ANKRAHMUN AND IN RL A GUY ARRIVED TO ASK ME FOR A COLOR PRINT, ETC... I LIED BY SAYING THAT I DID NOT HAVE INK AND CONTINUE WITH MY THING, HUNTING, THE TRUTH I WAS TOO LAZY TO ATTEND TO HIM HAHAHA BUT I NOTICED THAT THE GUY LOOKED AT MY SCREEN BUT I WAS LIKE WHATEVER I DIDN’T CARED; IT WAS NOT EVEN 3 MINUTES SINCE HE LEFT THE CYBER AND SHADOW SPINAL ARRIVED ON MY SCREEN (AT THAT TIME IT WAS ONE OF THE TOP IN ZANERA ALONG WITH SAVAGE SAINT, EVANCIO ETC...) AND OBVIOUSLY IT SCARED ME BECAUSE IT STARTED TO PK ME!!! I SAID NOOO, HE'S GOING TO KILL ME! AND IMMEDIATELY HE WRITES ME IN TIBIA: -PLEASE PRINT ME IT'S FOR AN ASSIGNMENT- AND I WHAAAAAAAAAT! HAHAHA, IT TURNS OUT THAT HE LIVED AROUND THE CYBER AND FROM THAT DAY WE BECAME FRIENDS AND HE PROTECTED ME IN TIBIA FROM EVERYONE 🤭.”
And indeed, Shadow Spinal protected her, however, you can never be completely protected from everything, since Nina was involved in an attack that, in the beginning, MANY Tibians have had to suffer; Yes… Nina had an encounter with the most famous “serial killer” in Tibia, the Hunter!

After being retired on several occasions and for a long time, Nina decided to play again, and chose a retro-pvp server.
“AFTER BEING RETIRED FROM ZANERA, I DECIDED TO PLAY AGAIN AND I CHOSE FIRMERA WHICH IS A RETRO SERVER, IT WAS THE MOST SIMILAR THING TO WHAT I PLAYED IN 2005 🤣, I CAME TO PLAY ON THAT SERVER WITH LIES HAHA BECAUSE OF A FRIEND INVITED ME, BUT I LIKED TO PLAY AGAIN AND HERE I AM STILL HOOKED BUT NOW IN ANOTHER SERVER.”
Her real name is Elena, she is 35 years old and she is from Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She works in a restaurant and some of her favorite off-screen hobbies are going out to restaurants, cafes, and when she has enough free time, traveling.
Her character's name is because “Nina” is usually her nickname in different games and Meow was a contribution from her friend Amy Meow.
“WE HAD TO CHANGE OUR LAST NAME ON ONE OCCASION DUE TO A WAR THEN MY FRIEND AMY CAME UP WITH MEOW BECAUSE WE LIKE CATS AND BECAUSE BEFORE I HAD A GUILD OF GIRLS CALLED MEOWS”.
Currently Nina plays on an Open-Pvp server, these servers have a gameplay that differs from the Retro-Pvp servers which was what Tibia used to be in the beginning; The way of hunting, of making bosses and especially the pvp have a quite significant change.
“AS FOR PVP I LIKE THE RETRO MORE BECAUSE IT'S WHAT I'VE ALWAYS BEEN USED TO, WHEN I CHANGED, TO BE HONEST I WAS NOT ABLE TO ADAPT BUT OVER TIME I REALIZED THAT THE OPEN-PVP IS MORE SIMPLE IN SEVERAL ASPECTS, AS WELL AS HUNTING LIKE FOR SOME BOSSES LIKE WZ 1, FINAL FERU, FINAL GT AMONG OTHERS. CURRENTLY I DON'T SEE MYSELF LEVELING IN A RETRO SERVER LIKE I DO IT NOW, I WOULD SURELY DIE HAHAHAHAHA!”
Among her favorite activities are leveling and making bosses, bosses in which she is truly a lucky player, and if you follow her on social media, you will have already been part of her adventures, looting items on a fairly regular basis.
Although for some players it seems that the bosses in Tibia have their favorites, because they feel that they will never see those yellow letters on their screens, Nina advises us to be CONSTANT.

DON'T STOP DOING YOUR BOSSES DAILY WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND JUST HAVE FUN FOR A WHILE, AND IF ANY YELLOW ITEM DROPS, IT'S JUST AN EXTRA🤩.”
Among the items she has looted are various items from Falcon, Forbidden Tome, Library Ticket, Naga items, several “small” loots from Magma Bubble and even an Alicorn Headguard from the same boss, among various other items; All this is posted on her Instagram, where she constantly shows us a little of her Tibian life.
Among her objectives she had planned to acquire a Ferumbras' Hat, since those items that she loots regularly she sells depending on the value, but unfortunately she has spent those savings HAHA (apparently making small improvements to her set or at least that is what we have been able to witness on her socials).
“I HAD PLANNED TO SAVE MONEY IN TIBIA TO BUY A FERU HAT, BUT I SPENT , MY SAVINGS 🤣, SO THE ONLY THING I WANT TO GET IN THE GAME IS TO BE LEVEL 800.”
Quite unfortunately, Tibia has gone from having power abusers in the past to having a community that has little control over their emotions as they go to the point of harassing, threatening, bothering and insulting other players for the most illogical and incoherent reasons. Like every other player, Nina has been a part of this terrible Tibian behavior.
“LIKE MANY WOMEN I HAVE SUFFERED FROM THE TYPICAL COMMENTS TRYING TO MAKE YOU FEEL LESS BECAUSE OF BEING A WOMAN PLAYING TIBIA, OR FOR BEING SO-AND-SO'S GIRLFRIEND AND WANTING TO ANNOY ME BECAUSE THEY CAN'T WITH HIM OR THINGS LIKE THAT. CURRENTLY THOSE ATTITUDES DO NOT AFFECT ME (BECAUSE IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN IN 2024) BUT AT THE TIME I REMEMBER THAT IT WAS SAD TO NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY PEACEFULLY WITHOUT SOMEONE INSULTING ME OR BOTHERING ME IN THE GAME.”
But these behaviors don't only affect women, since there are no limitations for this type of players who end up taking problems out of the game to make them part of real life; sometimes going so far as to look for other players at their homes, contact their families and so on.
“HAVING THESE ATTITUDES IN GAMES IS VERY WRONG! THEY ARE PEOPLE WHO SEEK ATTENTION, MIXING A GAME WITH RL TO THE POINT OF MAKING THREATS AND EVEN TAKING IT PHYSICALLY... THIS IS TOO MUCH AND SPEAKS VERY BADLY ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO DO IT. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PLAY AND HAVE FUN AND IT IS SAD TO COME INTO THIS TYPE OF SITUATIONS, I HOPE THAT THOSE BEHAVIORS END SOON AND BE MORE PEACEFUL IN THEIR GAME MODE.”
At the end of the day, the Tibian community is mostly made up of adults of all types, tastes, various attitudes and ways of thinking; We all want to spend time in the game in the way that best suits our life.
All people take these attitudes differently, therefore we must think before acting; We don't know what the other players might be going through.
